What post-construction cleaning solves
Construction dust behaves differently from household dust. It is fine, abrasive, and it travels: into light fittings, along the tops of door frames, inside cabinets that were open during the work, and through the HVAC system. Wiping the obvious surfaces once does very little, because the dust still suspended in the space resettles within hours.
There is also residue that ordinary cleaning does not address — adhesive labels on new fixtures and glass, paint flecks on floors and hardware, joint-compound haze, and sawdust in tracks and channels. Getting a space genuinely ready for handover or occupancy means working through that in a deliberate order, top down, usually more than once.

What affects the size of the job
We don’t publish flat rates — the same service varies a great deal between properties. These are the factors that actually change the scope:
- Size of the completed space
- How thoroughly the trades cleared up before leaving
- Whether it was a full build or a partial renovation
- Volume of dust generated — drywall and cutting work produce the most
- New floor surfaces and how they must be treated
- Whether a single clean or a rough-then-final sequence is needed
Getting ready for the visit
Confirm the trades are genuinely finished
One more cut, sand, or paint touch-up after the clean puts dust straight back into the space. Book the detailed clean once the work is actually complete, or plan an explicit rough clean and final clean.
Agree who removes large debris
Off-cuts, packaging, and bulk waste are often a contractor responsibility. Settling this before the walkthrough avoids the clean being scoped as a cleaning job and delivered as a haul-away.
Protect the new surfaces
New floors, worktops, and fittings each have their own tolerances. Tell us what has been installed so the right method is used and a finish does not get damaged during clean-up.
