What floor cleaning and care solves

Floors take more wear than any other surface and are the least forgiving of the wrong method. Tile looks dirty long after the tiles themselves are clean, because grout holds soil at a different rate. Hardwood is damaged by standing water and harsh products. Using one routine across every surface either underperforms or causes damage.

Sealed and unsealed surfaces, engineered and solid wood, and different tile types all tolerate different methods. Knowing the material in advance is what prevents damage.

Clear the floor properly

Furniture and boxes left in place create untouched islands that are obvious once the rest is done. Clearing what you can moves the coverage from partial to complete.

Treat entrances as their own problem

Most floor wear is grit carried in on shoes. Matting at entrances does more for long-term floor condition than any single clean.
